Welcome to Blossom Beyond - Botswana

Giving every child a chance to bloom

quote
"Our children are our greatest treasure. They are our future.."
Nelson Mandela

Why you matter

A toothbrush. A bar of soap. A pack of sanitary pads.

To many of us, they’re ordinary. But for children in remote communities, they can mean health, confidence, and the courage to raise a hand in class.

Because of your generosity, we’ve already reached our goal for the first phase of Scholars with Sparkle—and successfully supported three primary schools in the Takatokwane Constituency:

  • Kaudwane Primary School (400 learners)
  • Dutlwe Primary School (400 learners)
  • Khekhenye Primary School (180 learners)
  • That’s 980 children supported—real dignity delivered.

But the need doesn’t stop at three schools.

There are more children—just as bright, just as eager to learn—who still show up without the basics. Poor hygiene leads to preventable illness and school absence, and it quietly steals a child’s confidence.

So we’re expanding.

Your donation now helps us take this proven initiative to more schools and more children in need, providing:

  • Toiletry kits with essentials (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, face cloth, lotion, age-appropriate deodorant, hygiene education)
  • Sanitary pads for girls, so periods don’t become a reason to miss school
  • A joyful “Shine with Confidence” experience that reminds every child: you matter

We’ve shown what’s possible together. Now let’s do it again—bigger.

If you can give, please donate today. If you can’t, sharing this fundraiser still helps us reach the next school.

Clean. Confident. Ready to Shine.

Let’s give every child a chance to bloom.

Thank you!

Background

In remote areas of Botswana, adopting healthy hygiene habits can be challenging, often due to a lack of proper knowledge, practical skills, and consistent community encouragement.

Maintaining good hygiene is fundamental for preventing the spread of infectious diseases and ensuring children grow up healthy and strong. Poor hygiene directly contributes to higher rates of illness, increased healthcare costs, and significant school absences, which in turn negatively impact educational outcomes.

Furthermore, a lack of cleanliness and self-care can undermine a child’s confidence, inhibit classroom participation, and affect their emotional well-being. Addressing these basic needs is essential to ensure children are ready to learn, grow, and thrive in school.

It is important to note that the provided sources do not contain specific information regarding current economic challenges faced by the government of Botswana or detailed explanations of poverty levels and social constructs of homes within the country.

Therefore, this proposal focuses on the direct needs related to hygiene and its impact on children’s health, education, and dignity, as outlined in the provided project description.
